Cintron, or Berroa for the rest of the year?

Postby bolts801 » Fri Aug 29, 2003 1:27 am

I have a secondary league (kind of my scrubbie league) I'm in a paltry 7th place out of 12, but have put together a pretty good team in the last 7 or 8 weeks by picking up a lot of good pitching.

I have a week spot though and that is my SS spot. I like Cintron for his 2B, SS, 3B versatility incase one of my other boys in those other positions are benched , or on the DL.

But my question is...

who do you think will be the better bet for the remainder of the year?

Berroa, or Cintron.

I thought Cintron stats looked pretty good compared to Berroa ...being he's played in almost 40 less games, and almost homered as much as Berroa, and only driven in, and scored about 15 fewer times than Berroa.

I'm guessing if it were a full season... or game for game that Cintron is the more consistant player do you think?

For what it's worth, I'm considering dumping Michael Young for Cintronek.

Cintron has been to the second half what Young was to the first -- an solid but overachieving player. But I'll take him while he's hot.

Young, it would seem, has higher upside on SBs, but he literally hasn't even attempted an SB in more than a month.
