Do they sit still or make a deal? Both Seattle and the Mariners really upgraded the bats this week.

i hear they're bidding for soriano and with the white sox apparently out of the bidding they might have a chance to get him. they've been heating up a bit as of late. they're pitching has been on but they could use another bat in the lineup.

They certainly have the chips to go out and trade for Soriano (and Moreno has the $ to re-sign him). I think the LA Times last month reported that Vlad and Soriano share the same agent and Guerrero will work to recruit him. It makes too much sense.

I'm thinking the Angels aim low and try for a Hattieber, Mentjkiwicz (Sp?) type first baseman. OR Craig Wilson.

They don't have a 1b and who knows if Garrett Anderson doesn't just get worse.

Let me guess, you don't like the Angels. :-D

I do think you're hate of them is getting in the way of seeing how good a team they can be with just a little bit more help offensively. In fact, they aren't even the worst hitting team in the AL West (they are actually 2nd in terms of runs scored and OPS). The A's are.

The Angels also have by far the best pitching staff in the division too (with or without Colon). At the moment they are my pick to win the division, but in order to compete for the World Series with the teams in the AL East and Central they are going to have to add a bat. Maybe they might want Hinske? :-? He's a guy that isn't going to get much playing time with Reed and Rios having breakout years, and he's been one of the top hitters agaisnt right handers in the entire American League this season.
