Nobody has ever hit 3 HR in one game, American or Japanese.

humour ;-)

before this thread gets locked, let's talk about Iwamura...never heard of him, but he sounds a lot likeKaz Matsui. How his game translates remains to be seen. I doubt the Sox would get involved, but if the posting fee is ~$5-8 mil and 6/7 mil per season, they'll probably explore it. :-°

Considered the best 3B in Japan and started at 3B on the WBC Japanese team. I believe he might have been the Captain as well.

2006 stats BA HR RBI OBP
Iwamura, Akinori (Swallows) .310 32 77 0.386

Be that as it may, I can't help but wonder if the Indians would be interested in him.

Would anyone happen to have a link from a reputable trade rumor site about this???

Reputable trade rumor site...hmm...sounds oxymoronic.

Akinori will do it if he's with the Sox.

I've just caught some insider info that the Indians may be interested in this guy. No link yet, but I'm searching...

It'd be diesel if this guy could play 2B too. :-°
