When do they stop paying Hamton? :-B

2074.

I'm not up on my Rockies history. Was O'Dowd the man for both of those contracts (And Denny Neagle's, too)?

I think so but not entirely sure as I've only been out here 2 years.

The rockies core is great.

Holliday, Atkins, Helton, Tuliwitzski....and 3 of them will be great for a while.

Francis will be stud..

However, they keep making stupid FA moves. Recently they said they were gonna spend more money...however, i don't really buy this especially with there "Lets pickup and injured old man speedster" ploy.

They need to go after a big name to bring fans back in. Go get soriano or get matthews jr.

i'm pretty sure soriano would rather take a pay cut than play for the rockies right now

I'm pretty sure they're actually done paying Hampton; both last year and this year, the whole thing is on the books for Atlanta (of course, last year the insurance paid it all because he was hurt). But at this point, his contract really isn't that bad (now that inflation has caught up with it :-D)

Here's what I found on Hampton contract:
2007: Atlanta pays $14.5 million
2008: Atlanta pays $15 million
2009: Colorado pays $6 million for the buyout of the $20 million club option.

The Rockies could not sign Mathews Jr or Soriano, because they have one of the lowest payrolls in the league.

Well they only have a small payroll because their owners are greedy jerks
