The Daily News basically retracted the statement in today's article. It was more like backpedaling but good enough. Didn't they also report the Yankees had fired Joe Torre?

Newsday is reporting a 1-year deal ~$12M is expected to be announced by Friday.

I guess that's more reasonable from the Mets perspective...

We probably get the 300th victory too. That's a pricey accomplishment...

Fine by me. Glavine earned at least one more year in a Mets uniform if he wanted it.
