He'll get a job somewhere next year because bullpens need live arms. He'll get a piddly-ass contract and could turn out as a deal for some team.

To be honest, I really respect Mota for what he has said after the news of his suspension. Obviously his actions were stupid and he deserves to be suspended, but at least he didnt go with the standard statement of "I didn't know what I was taking" or "I bought it over the counter and the substance is tainted."

Give him credit for being a man and stepping up to tell everyone that he made the decision and was taking steroids. But he's still an idiot for taking steroids.

No, someone will sign him again...and his ERA will go back to 6+
I agree, someone will sign him thinking he has to be better then their bums in MR.

No he will be somewhere next year. His suspension will be over around the first of June and a bunch of teams will be jumping at a live arm for the stretch run(if he is not signed by then).

Isn't this the exact problem that was mentioned in the first year whereby a player is found to have tested positive but the appeals process keeps him in play for months and possibly into the playoffs?

The suspensions are announced before the player can make an appeal.
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

I highly doubt that he'll get signed while he's on suspension.

While not as long as a suspension, Lawton was signed.

I agree that Mota likely gets signed. Too many teams looking for MR help to pass on Mota, even if for only 2/3 of the season. The Yankees signed Dotel even though he couldn't return until mid-season.

My assumption is that he'll get signed to a prorated contract. Obviously not paid for his suspension days.

Anyone care to tell me otherwise?*
