Think Sheff is 100% gone.

Wells, IMHO, is about 75% gone.

Miggy, IMHO, is about 50%.

I think little chance on the others.

Jeremy Bonderman is on the block if the Tigers can get a stud hitter and two top minor leaguers. Middle infielder and a catching prospect.

Sheff is gone, only other one I see leavin' is Wells, who I feel about 70% on. I dunno though, I think you'd be crazy to pass up a 30 HR 100 RBI Gold Glove CFer, even if he's askin' for Beltran money, the Jays are claiming there "in it to win it" as they say, but not re-signing your team's best offensive weapon doesn't lead you to believe so.

It isn't a question of whether the Jays want to sign him, they most certainly do. It's a question of whether or not he actually wants to stay here. From all accounts that I've heard/read, they're prepared to give him a ton of money (obviously not "Beltran money" but up there), and have been for some time now. He just hasn't signed the contract yet, and it's beginning to look like he really wants to test the FA market next off-season. And looking at this situation from the perspective of a Keith Law report that came out in the summer, he doesn't genuinely want to stay here either. The Jays certainly won't let him go for nothing either next season, so expect a trade, it's just a question of when that will be (if it's not now, it's going to have to be in July, assuming the Jays aren't in 1st place or something like that). I wouldn't question the team's will to win though, just because they haven't been able to get Vernon to sign on the dotted line. It's not like they are giving him an insulting offer like they did to the best player in team history, Carlos Delgado.
