Agreed, but IMO, 2005 wasn't really a good reflection of his talent because of the fact that he had no protection. In 2004 all the Blue Jays had off years even Delgado. I think the majority of his struggles have mostly been due to the team around him rather than his inability to produce consistently. I do see what you are saying though.

I really like Vernon but I do not see him at Sizemore's level. Last two seasons Sizemore is 4 years younger and already outperformed Wells in the last 2 seasons.

By who's standards has he outperformed Vernon? 20/20 is great, but Vdub had 300 30 100 this season and 28 100 last year. I'm not sure I agree with that statement at all.

Read the title of the thread. In real life, Sizemore, clearly outperformed Wells in both 05, 60 evidenced by his superior VORP.

Yes I'm aware of the title, but you're saying he outperformed VDub when he clearly isn't a better offensive threat.

Sizemore is a leadoff hitter whereas V. Wells bats 3rd, so it's pretty much a given he will have more RBI. V. Wells knocks in more runs (although 78 batting leadoff is very nice), but on the flip side Sizemore scores a lot more runs than Wells. Sizemore has a decided advantage in a lot of notable categories including VORP, as one person pointed out, and also runs created/27 outs, so offensively I'd give Sizemore the edge. Can't say for sure which player if either has an edge on defense...Sizemore gets my nod as the best overall AL CF.

I like Wells better than Sizemore, but sign me up for the leadoff hitter in real life.
