Dimaggio's streak is much more amazing, rare, and involved a lot of luck. It was a significant feat in that it was unlike any other.

On the other hand, Ted Williams' .400 involves more skill, in my opinion, and its our way of remembering just how good the player was. It just as significant as the streak.

I voted for Dimaggio, though :*)
