12 team league, 6x6 (hits and losses). We have a keeper format that allows you to keep 2 players - you can't keep anyone you pick off of waivers or any of your top 3 round picks. Each year you keep a guy, you lose a pick two rounds better than where you took him.

So, if I took Gordon in the 15th this year, I'd get him in the 13th next year...

That being said, what round sounds about right for this guy?

Draft date will have its importance in this decision. If your draft is late march, i'd wait to see how he does in spring training games and then i'd take a decison...if the draft is in the next week or so, i'd take him around the 13th round.

I know that could be a bit high but...if he has a good season, next year he will be worth much more than a 11th rounder...if he plays bad, then you just lose your 13th this year and you don't keep him for the next season.

His average draft position in Yahoo is 17.5, in your situation I probably wouldn't go higher then 15.

When to draft Gordon?

Wanted to get a good feel for where he is going in everyone's draft. Post his draft position from your draft. Also indicate keeper/non keeper.

I had two Yahoo public drafts: 17th in 10 team league, not drafted in 12 team league.

My 12 team, 10keeper draft happens in exactly one week, with one of the last picks in the first round I've done enough snooping to find out that he'll be gone within the first 6 picks of our 1st round (so technically 11th round if you presume your first 10 picks represent the first 10 rounds), with the following 3B eligible players off the board... Arod, M-Cab, Wright, Atkins, Aram, Zimmerman and Figgins

I got him in the 20th round in a 10 team non keeper. I'd take that again...

He went in the second pick of a minor league draft.

In a different league, a 20 teamer, he went in the 11th (192). Young went in the fifth (84), taken by the same manager. This guy is hoping for a lot from a couple guys who haven't proven the can play for the long haul. Although, with the quality of their respective teams, they will be on a long leash.
