The concern I have with Rios is the sporadic minor league #'s, he didn't actually rake in 2004 or 2005. The average wasn't that great, and power lack luster, but it was an impressive 2007 pre-AS break, just wondering if he can be consistent.

Thanks everyone for the input. I've already drafted him in one league and have my bragging rights draft on Saturday. I just wanted to make sure I wasnt crazy thinking he could be a great value in the 7th-8th round.

Always good to hear others thoughts. I appreciate it!

I'm aiming for the 8th round, but I'm nervous about it.

His average was a fluke in the 1st half last year with a 36% hit rate it should have been more like .300 in the first half. The power was largely a change in approach though as his flyball rate spiked a large amount, usually thats sustainable. The speed was always there.

I like him a lot more in the 9th round than the 7th but I don't think its out of line to draft him in the 7th, just risky for a guy who has never played a full season in the majors yet.

I got him in round 11, surprisingly, yesterday in my Yahoo roto league. I couldn't believe it. I saw him passing through the rounds til I finally had to take him.

I just took him at the end of the 10th. He is definitely being overlooked this year.

Wait until you see him do it for a full season first. Until then, someone else can gamble. Naturally you draft on value, so if he is there in the 20th, I'd take him. But I wouldn't take him in the first 9 rounds.

I'm probably in the minority but I don't care. I see him doing 20/20 .310 and thats enough for me to take him in the 6th. I did practice drafts and Yahoo has him the equivalent of the 10th round but he routinely would go in the 7th or 8th. To ensure I had him in all my leagues i've been taking him 6th round usually as my 3rd outfielder. My predictions usually have decent track records but then again I did trumpet Daniel Cabrera last year... :-t

rios is the best pick i got under the radar. i got him in the 11th plus i had him last year this should be the year he puts up great numbers now that hes no longer a rookie .

i think he is going to see pitches better and be a force !
