Good WW Sleeping Starting Pitchers?

Postby Jedimindtric » Fri Mar 30, 2007 6:07 pm

Are there any good sleepers at SP that are going undrafted? With alot of injuries and questions at SP who could fill and actually have a chance to really contribute fantasy wise?

Seriously? A good 3 weeks isn't enough for me to even watch Ortiz... He hasn't been worthwhile since he left Atlanta.

James Shields is someone who I would look at, though he has an uphill battle with pitching in the AL East.
Greg Maddux will give you good ratios and has a nice home ballpark
Tom Gorzelanny has a lot of talent, but he's had a lot of trouble throwing strikes this spring (I believe).

Ditto on Maine, potential to be a very solid starter who is doesn't seem to get drafted in most mixed leagues.

I personally expect him to put up numbers something like....

190IP 150Ks 14Wins 3.9 ERA 1.20WHIP

give or take, not too shabby for 'waiver-wire trash'

Not all of these guys will be great, but they have upside given where Yahoo has them ranked.

Nate Robertson
Chuck James
Anthony Reyes
Tom Gorzelanny
Adam Loewen
Julián Tavárez
Jarrod Washburn
Kip Wells

plus the other guys already mentioned.
Don't tase me, bro.
