Edwin Encarnacion ?

Postby SpecialFNK » Fri Apr 20, 2007 6:06 pm

what to do with Encarnacion?
with the way he is hitting, isnt there a chance that he loses alot of playing time in Cincinnati?
2 guys you know are going start in the OF are Dunn and Griffey. then theres Ryan Freel and Josh Hamilton. the way Hamilton is hitting im sure they are going to want to make him a regular, but then what do they do with their leadiff hitter Freel? im guessing make him the regular at 3B? which would mean alot less time for Encarnacion.
so should i wait on Encarnacion in hopes that he gets consistant playing time and turns things around? or either trade him for whatever i can get, or maybe even cut him lose?
right now he is only my UT player while i have Lugo at 3B, but hes still in a starting position and hes killing me.

You won't get anything in a trade for him now. If you can afford it keep him benched until things play out in Cincinnati, or at least keep an eye on the lineups when they are revealed so you can bench him if he's sitting. I still have hopes that he will have a productive year.

I just dropped him. Should have traded him two weeks ago (I also have Zim), but I left it too late.

When EE got benched about a week ago for not running out a failed bunt, that pretty much marked the beginning of the end for me.

im hesitant to drop him. i drafted him last year and when he got off to a slow start last season i dropped him. then someone else picked him up and Encarnacion went on to put up fairly decent numbers. im affraid if i drop him again early this season someone else will pick him up and he will put up even better numbers than last season.

i regret taking him over adrian gonzalez in 2/3 leagues. i still think if given regular playing time and semi-regular spot in the order he'll show 20 hr power and get 10 stolen bases.

Isnt he the odd man out with Josh Hamilton emerging? Freel to 3B with Hamilton in the OF. Regardless I would have dropped him awhile ago.
