Why do the Rockies keep playing Finley?

He's barely batting .100 ( I believe he's 3 for 30 now) and is absolutely horrible.. What's wrong with Taveras, at least he's hitting near .200 (still bad) but will steal you bases

Veteran presence? Maybe he's got a good glove?

Honestly, I'm not sure either. Maybe Taveras is tired too.

this is what i want to know.im tired of checking the boxscore before the game and seeing Finely in there instead of Taveras. i drafted Taveras and im expected alot of steals this season. i know he hasnt started the season so well, but hes 3 for his last 6.
rotoworld made a comment in this aswell
Willy Taveras is out of the lineup on Friday for the second time in three games.
The previous times Taveras has sat, Steve Finley has replaced him in center field and the leadoff spot. Finley is playing tonight, but he's batting second instead of first. Taveras is sitting despite collecting three hits in his last six at-bats. We'd have less of a problem with it if the Rockies had someone better than Finley backing him up. As is, they lose quite a bit on defense without gaining anything on offense.

I'm guessing they're doing it to piss off fantasy owners. ;-7

This coming from a Rockies fan, to be a terrible team (which the Rockies will continue to be until they get new management that is willing to spend some money) you have to play terrible players (Finley). Neither Finley nor Taveras are great options, but at least IF Taveras does get on base he can use his speed. Most things the Rockies do don't make a lot of sense so you just have to shake your head sometimes.

Maybe the Rockies think Finley's just that much better. Im pretty shocked Finley's still playing baseball, the guy's 42 years old and batting .125, but hey, they keep putting him out there ;-D

Don\'t pull your stats on me....he KNOWS baseball....silly geek numbers don\'t win over a baseball player\'s ability...and I bet you\'ve never even played Pro baseball so your opinion is worthless.
