Even the months where he hits for low average he's productive in runs, home runs and rbis. Look at April through August. (Remember he got hurt in September)
April 17/9/27/.344
May 18/4/19/.233
June 15/11/23/.256
July 16/6/18/.186
August 16/6/25/.311
Granted, his BA is streaky, but the other numbers he puts up really aren't which more than make up for his inconsistant BA. One thing is for sure, his overall numbers darn sure aren't streaky enough to make the comment... "have fun with that". I got him in the 12th and consider him an outstanding bargain with that pick.
Exactly. I made the initial post because I was truly curious where people drafted Giambi. In my league where I didnt draft him, he went in the 12th round (and i too consider this a tremendous bargain).
He's hit .260 over the last two years, but the other numbers will be similar to Konerko/Delgado. If you pass on those two in round 6 in favor of getting Giambi later, you can fill other needs such as drafting a 3rd outfielder (Rios, Cuddyer, Pierre, Matsui, etc.).
