I'll probably order John Sickels' annual Prospect Book once again. Just like hearing what he has to say about guys in the minors.

Not to be rude...but any printed source is done months before the season...and are not worth the money.....best bet is to keep up with what is going on line..or subscribe to an online service.... :-)

re:magazines

I'd say the best thing would be to use both. Buying reliable magazines, you may find a thing or two that you missed sifting thru the online stuff. I always liked Mazeroski's magazine becasue it always was the latest to print and the most up to date. But many magazines out there used the same material, just in a different format, name and cover. If I find a magazine I like I get it, but I always double check the publisher to make sure it's different from one I may have already bought.

I recommend Sporting News Fantasy Source. It was like 19.99 for the whole year and you got the draft kit for free I think. It was great because you could customize the updates just for the players on your team. Oh and no I don't work for them :-B

In our league we coduct our auction by going through every player listed in Street and Smith, team by team. By february when the magazine hits the news stands there is not much infromation not avialable everywhere, but it is fun buying the magazine to get me even more psyched up for the baseball season

Thanks for the info. I hear what you're saying about the mags, but I really don't rely on what is printed in them. I just like to have them for something to page through, check out stats and that sort of stuff. I agree there are much better sources for info. Plus what am I supposed to read while I'm umm...at my home office.
