Hey guys. We all saw flashes of Adam Wainwright's brilliance last year in the playoffs, and he had an encouraging first two starts.

Now, it seems like he's getting hit, and hit HARD. The 10 walks aren't encouraging either. Can a Cardinals fan comment on this? It seems like his run total today was caused all via the longball.

I don't know, he's looking like just about the most hittable pitcher in the league. I want to be patient with him, but clearly he's going to be on the bench for his next couple of starts.

Wow, the way this game is going, I wonder how much of the blame is Wainwright's. A lot of balls are getting out.

Yeah, the wind is nasty today at Wrigley. Anything hit in the air has a chance of going out or at the very least being dropped. I wouldn't pay too much attention to today when evaluating Wainwright.

keep him, the kid has stuff.

Even today he was nasty with the curve.
the fastball...not so much.
He is young and is going to make mistakes.
But he is going to be good.

I was at the game this past Tuesday - he looked awful against the Pirates, too.

drop him like it's hot. I did, along with a. reyes. call it slow starts for both of em but I have a feeling they will still be on the wire if they pick it up. Not to mention the bullpen is not great to protect any lead they may have.

Wainwright and Reyes should not be compared at this point in their careers

one day Reyes may be very good, but Waino has that look right now.
His stuff is good, and even when it isnt he has that mentality where he can battle. This kid is going to be very good, maybe not this year...but sooner than later.
