Bruce Levine of ESPN 1000 in Chicago has reported that talks with Greg Maddux agent Scott Boras(s) is increasing. The Cubs could sign him very soon. ;-D

I wouldnt mind having Maddux back. Even if he goes 10-9 as a 5th starter thats better than our 5th starter situation last year. I just dont have enough faith in Cruz or anyone else. And I'd rather not have them put Cruz/Guzman in there just because they have "faith" With what the Cubs will be shooting for next year, I just think they shouldt take a chance on having Cruz go 1-9 with a 6.00 ERA and Guzman going 0-1 with a 10.50 ERA.

I agree, I'd feel a lot more comfortable with Maddux in there then Cruz or Guzman, though I think Guz is gonna be great someday. But for this year, it'd be great to see Mad-Dog in cubbie blue.

Wouldn't be a bad pickup for the Cubs. Maddux is talking to a few teams right now, so it should be interesting to see where he lands.

If he went to the Cubs, imagine how much he could help those young pitchers.
