Scmidt is a K machine. Did you see that game he threw against the Cards in the NLCS? If you did, you would see that he throws gas. Maybe if he would stop throwing so much gas around, the price would drop to 10 cents a gallon.

Perez pitches in the best pitchers park out there. I would take Perez without even considering parks, he is the better pitcher.

LA is close, probably 2nd best pitchers park. However, Pacbell is 1. 3 year park indexes 100 neutral

avg SF 94 LA 92
runs SF 82 LA 82
hrs SF 59 LA 94

avg and runs =, but hrs way tougher in PacBell.

I am actually shocked it is this close, or even Schmidt in the lead. I think Odalis is superior. I don't think there really was a fade. He just couldn't keep up his spectacular numbers. He was fantastic in August and September going 5-3 in 10 starts and only giving up more than 3 ER once. Schmidt was also excellent down the stretch.

I also agree that Schmidt being #1 hurts his value slightly.

I disagree with whomever said Schmidt might be better in two years. While it could come true, it's not likely as Schmidt is 30 as of January and Odalis is 24 - 25 in June.
