Most Impressive: Thomas, Hoffman or Biggio?

Which feat is most impressive?

Hoffman is the only player to ever reach 500 saves. Of course saves have not always been counted and teams did not always change pitchers during a game.

The Big Hurt will be the 21st player to hit 500 HRs. Lou Gehrig never got to 500, neither did STan Musial.

Biggio will be the 27th player to get 3,000 hits. Some people with fewer hits include Barry Bonds, Babe Ruth and Frank Robinson.

Biggio's 3000 hits - The fact that he has stayed healthy enough over such a long amount of time is just unheard of. Not to mention that he moved positions throughout his career 3 times just so he could stay in the lineup regularly.

i say hoffman.
because that is something you can't do by yourself. it is because of your team scoring and helping you achieve it.
thomas and biggio are individual achievments and are based on personal sucsess.

dont get me wrong all three are huge and great, but i just think hoffmans sucsess is harder to duplicate.

I think this is a hard one between Thomas and Hoffman. If it's just 500 HR vs. 500 saves, then I think it is Saves, and Hoffman's was harder. But which is more impressive? Well, since Thomas has missed a few years off his career, like...3(about the same as Ted Williams, who hit 521 career HR). So when you can compare Thomas' power numbers to the Best ever(and he still has a year or two in him) and count in the years he has missed, it's more impressive.

ps- just a thought, you might need to give the offensive player the slight edge as well. Hoffman doesn't ever have to worry about endurance or getting tired because he only pitches about 50 Innings a year. Thomas and Biggio play that in a week. They get tired at the end of the season.

Hoffman. 500 saves with only two out pitches. Amazing.

I'll go with Hoffman.

500 home runs isn't as special as it once was and Biggio limping to 3000 hits isn't really that spectacular.

I vote Hoffman because there are only so many saves opportunities (that are out of the closer's hand) to convert through out each year...It's up to Hoffman himself to actually convert those into saves 500 times......IMPRESSIVE.

Its hard for me to give a ton of credit to a closer.....I mean seriously. While 500 saves is awesome and Hoffman is a stud I can't put that over 500hrs or 3000hits.

Thomas
Biggio
Hoffman

in that order for me.

Definitely Hoffman. How can doing something no one's ever done NOT be the most impressive? The other two are special but not unique...

I don't think anyone has said 500 saves isn't impressive. I just think that there isn't anything a closer can do that is more impressive than 500hr or 3000hits, no matter how many more people make it to those milestones.

Kinda like saying a kicker doing something more impressive than a RB going for 2000 yards in a season because thats been done before. :?
