If Zambrano is getting $18.3 million per year, how much will Santana get when he hits the market? :-?

Zambrano has never put up more than two dominant months in a row in his entire career. I doubt he's hurt this is just how things go with him. He looks lost out there for a month, then is the best pitcher in baseball for 2 months, then lost again for a month etc.

Well, hopefully his lost-month is about over. I'm worried (fantasy-wise) about how this will affect his performance. I can see it causing him to relax and either perform very well, or very poorly.

Well that solves one issue I had. The Rangers need pitching and Zam was the biggest fish on the market this coming offseason if I'm not mistaken. I'd have been happy to sign him, but how long his arm will last is/was a big question mark for me, so I'd have been a little concerned had it been a large and/or long contract. We still most likely needed to take the gamble though, so I'm a little disappointed we won't be signing him, but at the same time we won't have to worry about his arm. Mixed opinion from a Ranger fan on the overall.

Should be a good "pick me up" for the Cubbies while they are chasing a playoff spot. Good timing. ;-D

Zambrano would had gotten the type of money Zito got, if he had became a free agent...

Zambrano's deal: 91.5/5 = 18.3

Zito's deal: 126/7 = 18.0

I'd say Zambo did all right. ;-)

If I'm not mistaken, Zambrano got a richer deal than Zito.

EDIT: Nevermind. I was thinking per year.

110.75 with an option. Santana is a very happy man right now.
