2008: Peavy or Santana

Postby Another Blown Save » Sun Sep 16, 2007 7:41 pm

I was just looking at bunch of stats and just realized that Peavy's on the verge of winning the NL pitching triple crown.

With that said, I was wondering if people are gonna start drafting Peavy before Santana in a 1-year league.
Just wanted to see where people stand as of now.

Just out of curiosity, why did you put 1-year league in there? Personally, I don't see that as a factor, as these are both young guys at the height of their careers.

I'd still go with Santana.

I am pretty sure that Santana will be #1 on my SP lists this offseason just like he has been for a few years now.

Santana... what he brings to the table is consistency. Until he starts faltering, I would go with him but Peavy is really closing the gap fast.

I wanted people to vote based on what people think each pitcher will do next year.

Fair enough.

Well, I think that Peavy definitely has the ability to be the more valuable player next year, but due to consistency I'd still take Santana before I'd take Peavy. I'd look Santana late first and Peavy early second, but I honestly don't see myself getting either.
