Whats the difference between Howard and Dunn?

Postby colt4523 » Sun Sep 16, 2007 9:03 pm

They seem like mirror images of each other to me with the exception of Howard has a slightly better BA. Is there any reason to draft Howard a couple rounds before Dunn..thoughts?

Dunn is batting .269 and that's a career year for him batting average wise and something he won't repeat because he won't be a Red next season and may not have the luxury of hitting in a bandbox again. Howard is hardly a .300 hitter or anything but Dunn has been in the league for 7 seasons, Howard for 3, and he was never a .260 hitter in the minors so he's probably not going to hit so poorly forever. He should be able to hit .280ish in his career and not bottom out at .215. I'm not planning on drafting Howard myself, I'd prefer Ortiz or Fielder.
