whoops!!!!!!

Postby Guest » Sat Feb 14, 2004 11:14 am

i saw the forum on 2003 predictions and got curious about what I was prognosticating in here last season.

I was right on jose hernandez....but on Mark Teixeira, well, whoops....

i would stay away from him like a girl with a cold sore......remember what blalock did last year?????

fantasy owners were trading 30-save closers to get him he was hyped up so much, and went in most drafts 10 rounds before robin ventura or joe randa......and if he proves me wrong, I'll draft him next year....too much competition, and not a friendy manager.....STAY AWAY

anyone else want to look up and fess up??

I'll admit to more.....on a thread about whether or not to trade Giambi for Pujols, I advised the following

and i think 'g' will put up better ###s this year.......if you take away the slow start when he was pressing it looks a lot like his MVP stats.......puljos is great, but if its not a keeper, i say giambi

scary thing is, most agreed with me

so c'mon....who's got one?

I was telling everyone that Gagne wouldn't be the top closer again.

Whoops!!!!!!

Last year I thought Piazza in the 4th round and Randy Johnson as the 6th pick overall were steals. I also traded David Wells for Jacque Jones before the season started.

Made some good picks, though, too (Jason Schmidt, Juan Gonzalez, Mike MacDougal, Johan Santana and Renteria come to mind).

Great avatar Honus
I committed the ultimate bonehead move last season. Falling way behind in steals and runs, I traded Maggs for Byrnes and Lofton. Anyone want to top that? Lofton finished fairly well, but Byrnes went in the tank almost from the day I got him. Learned my lesson though, don't trade for any player in the midst of a hot streak, your opponent will demand a premium.

this has sorta morphed into bad moves you made during the year, which I did plenty of

Never a believer in Jason schmidt, i traded him in April for Shawn Green, with the belief he was going into a hot streak at any time....i'm still waiting.

I also pulled a couple fast ones on my fellow GM's....like dealing Jose Valentin to a SS desperate squad for Hank Blalock
