The article that I read from Fanball, said that Cashman offered Soriano, Contreras, and, minor league catcher D.Navarro to the Rangers for A-Rod. Suposedly the Rangers said no.

With the lack of starting pitching in the bronx compared to other years, Contreras isnt' going anywhere. I could see a 1 for 1 deal wtih Sori and A-rod if Texas were willing and either A-rod or Jeter willing to move to third.

I don't think the Yanks can consider moving Jeter to 3B, he has to weak an arm

A-rod to third wouldn't be out of the question. Trading Navarro and Contreras would be though.

The report on ESPN.com says the Yankees want to acquire A-rod to play 3rd.

If the A-Rod for Soriano and Contreras deal goes through, then the Yanks should then look to L.A. to get a pitcher to replace Contreras. The Dogers are desperate for another bat, so the Yanks could trade odd man out B.Williams to L.A. for either Ishii or Jose Lima.

I just don't think this will happen.

This deal is so big, I don't think it'll happen.
It has been said in previous reports that A-Rod would be willing to move to 3rd with Jeter staying at SS.
As a Yankee fan, I don't mind the straight up deal, but adding in Contreras and Navarro is too much. Our farm system is already extrememly thin as is and Navarro is a top 3 prospect for the Yanks. And, if they get rid of Contreras, who is going to be the 5th starter? It's not bad enough that I don't feel comfortable with Lieber at #4. What the Yankees need to do is getting Giambi off the field and playing DH and getting someone for 3rd, but not a guy as costly as Alex. A couple of good defensive players like Adrian Beltre and Travis Lee would be fine. We don't need their bats, just defense on that infield.
