I actully think Howard will be the #1 Overall Fantasy Player in '08. Problem is, I'm not sure I have the stones to draft him that high. I'm actually hoping for a middle pick, so he'll fall to me.

Nice write up Hortster. ;-D

I'd take Holliday with the #2 pick.

Do you have any good reasons why u'd take him?

The last pick in the draft never 'catches up'. I shake my head when people get to pick draft order and someone chooses the last pick over like the 4th pick, that is just bad value.

i agree completely. i'll take a top pick any day. you get a stud who you definitely want and then you can worry about everything else later. just give me that guarantee. there often isn't a huge difference in picks 10-25 anyways.

i think i'd take howard #2 if the league is H2H. you don't need to worry about speed as much and i think the guy is just a beast. i also like Cabrera. the tigers are going to pound people this year, especially with 60 games against KC, MIN, and CHW.

That just isn't too smart though. You could take Hanley Ramirez, and then trade for Howard and get more in return than if you had just drafted Howard to begin with.

u got a good point there. however not everyone would rather have ramirez though, some people may want to get more for howard than just ramirez, its all about your opinons and what u think of the players. persanally i like ramirez better, but what u said doesn't work for everyones opinions.

what you're proposing is a heck of a lot less smart. what if the guy who drafts howard doesn't want to trade him or doesn't want ramirez? now i'm stuck with a guy who i don't really want and missing the guy i want because "the fantasy gods" told me I was supposed to pick hanley ramirez at pick #2. fantasy baseball trading isn't exactly an efficient market. i can't just swap whatever i want at anytime for equivalent value. not like ryan howard is a 5th round pick and it's a major reach either. if his BA was higher last year he'd probably be a top5 or top3 lock. and if the league is H2H like I stated, even if he hits .268 again it isn't as big of a deal compared to roto.

I guarantee you 99% of people would be willing to trade Howard for Hanley.

Holliday or Cabrera

I can't see taking Santana in top 10. Howard is more likely to hit .270 then .300.
