I didn't want to start a debate on drafting top catchers (or even where to draft Mauer), I simply was wondering if Mauer is entering this season with anything that increases his chances of getting injured, or otherwise prohibiting him from reaching those numbers

I think I'd put him down for 5 SB instead of 10. With the injury problems I just don't see them letting him run that much. I'd also only pay for a .300 AVG tops. The one year he hit so high was because of inflated BABIP. He has the potential to hit higher of course but with a position like C I don't like to draft for potential early in the draft.
