I'll be surprised to see him repeat his numbers...I personally like Upton over him, but I'm not taking either of them...since they are going too early imo.

For a 2B, I'm targeting Figgins or Cano.

Figgins has 2b eligibility in my league ;-D

I'd probably pick him in the 4th, 5th round. I know I won't get him but I don't buy his 07 season fully yet.

;-D
Utley's the clear-cut top 2B this year... no questions. That's why goes in the 1st round while the other 2Bmen go in the late 2nd (Phillips) and third (Upton) and later.

But BP plays hard, really hard. So I'd bet on a repeat across the board except in AVG. A slight dip there seems predictable. Still, solid numbers all across from a 2B. The guy's a beast. Let us also not forget that Upton's not a 2B anymore.. So in a year or two he'll only qualify at OF, thereby giving BP even more relative value.

Brandon Phillips is really hard to project. His counting stats are good, but can he keep it up. His contact rates make his chances of keeping his batting avg so high a little suspect. Personally I definitely see him as being at worst a 3rd rounder. I have him as the 3rd best 2b behind Utley and Upton.

I have him behind Utley and just ahead of Upton. Let's see what BP does now that he got his long-term contract.

Chase is 29, Phillips 27, so that edge goes to Phillips. You guys can say Phillips had a career year at age 26, but did he? By his age he should be reaching his peak not declining. Utley had a nice age 26 year did people shy away from him then? No...

Agreed. I'm not buying yet on Phillips.

I have been doing CBS H2H points league mocks and he is a mid to late 2nd rounder there, I would probably take him in the 3rd if he fell to me. 2B is pretty thin, if I couldn't get him or Utley maybe Upton I would wait till about the 8th or 9th and pick up Ugla or Kinsler. BTW Kinsler is no way better than Phillips, MLB.com rankers must be smoking their own dope! ;-D
