He had a nice September and his ratios really got hurt when the Mets lit him up in one game during August. I don't think he'll decline that far yet when he still has Petco to help him out.

Boy, this is interesting. On paper there are some really shaky Closers..I see these guys as being the worst in this order

Borowski- He just scares me
Todd Jones - See Browski
Anyone in Texas
Troy Percival
Brad Lidge- He is in a different city, could be old self or did Pujols HR have that much brain effect?

Borowski - He's just not good...I didn't think he was even going to start with the job. When your closer comes in, you should have the feeling that the game is already over...that's not the feeling with Borowski. He killed my era/whip in close h2h battles. I stayed wayyyy away from him.

Jones - See above

Gregg - Don't think he will keep the job

CJ Wilson - I believe he is starting as the closer, I would bet money that he loses the job

Brandon Lyon - I say Pena ends up with the job

Even if he regresses severely, I don't think San Diego will remove him from the closer role.

Although an extended visit to the DL is always the "save face" option.

Yeah, you're right. With Zumaya out Jones will have to be horrible especially with Rodney not 100% right now.

He may not be the first to lose his job, but Valverde is going to burn the most fantasy owners this year.

The only way I can see Jones losing that job is either by completely blowing every opportunity or getting injured, at which point they'll probably just go to a patchwork 9th inning of Rodney and Cruceta (the new guy with no big-league experience) and Seay/Byrdak being the situation lefties, even in the 9th.

Jones is the only option until Zumaya comes back, and even after that I think Leyland will be leary about demoting him. He doesn't trust Zumaya, and he seems to like Jones, regardless of his stats.

I don't see him getting injured, and if he continues to close 80+% of his save opportunites, Leyland will stick with him the whole season.

Unless Dombrowski can package Jones/Inge (and eat a ton of their contract $$$) to bring in a new closer either before the season (very unlikely) or before the deadline (again, not likely), the Tigers are just going to have to live and die by Jones.
