Joe Buck's Comments

Postby BuckeyeSal » Wed Jul 02, 2008 4:23 pm

I don't know if you guys saw this but I linked the audio below and I was just curious about what everybody thought, from people that love baseball too. I've always the Joe was a little bit of an ass, but to come and say he doesn't really like baseball as THE national play by play guy for the only free network coverage seems pretty wild. Do you guys think Fox letting him go is in order?

I don't like high school math, but I teach it...

Whatever pays the bills, right?

Yea this was on Cowherd. Cowherd is a total idiot to tell you the truth. I like listening to him in the morning because he can be funny about certain things but its like he HATES baseball. now I don't know if he got canned from his baseball job or what and now holds a grudge but he's always talking about how GREAT football is and how OLD and BORING baseball is (oh except for the sox and yankees)

Anyways he annoys me and Joe Buck stinks so who cares. He's arrogant and limp wristed

What he should be fired for is sucking, not which particular sports he enjoys or doesn't enjoy.

All that should matter is whether or not he does a good job calling a game, not whether or not he enjoys watching the game as he calls it.

Being really good and loving what you cover might go hand in hand. I'd much rather hear Costas because you can always tell he loves baseball. If you don't like math but teach it, that's great, but I'm not sure you're ready to do national broadcasts weekly about math to promote it. That chair should be filled by the best baseball play by play guy in the business. It is the old Vin Scully spot, the guy we grew up watching every Saturday.

Joe Buck is painful to listen to. A good job of calling the game is one that goes unnoticed- that's the exact opposite of the annoying Joe Buck.

As for Cowheard- he knows nothing, NOTHING about baseball. He's the typical person who dislikes the sport because they find it "dull" because they are so uneducated they cannot see the depth or layered elements of the sport.

I'm surprised Troy Aikman hasn't thrown a football at his head.
