My only question is if he is a power hitter capable of hitting the ball out of anywhere in any at bat

There are reports on Rotoworld that the Indians are planning on moving him back to 1B. Maybe they will get him a bunch of games at 1B then call him up. I am praying they do that!!!!!!! I can see a Braun type of impact.

It's certainly possible but the chances are not very good at all.

So I should fire Garko immediately from my franchise team?

Yeah, minor league call-ups who produce like Braun are VERY rare. Prior to Ryan, there was Pujols. Pretty short list IMO.

Anyone think LaPorta will be worth $12 next year in an AL only $260 cap league? Only reason I ask is because in our keeper league you need to add 1/2 again to the players salary to keep him next year and FA's come in at $8.

This don't sound like a quick call from cbs.sports

The 23-year-old LaPorta will play in the Futures Game for Team USA on Sunday and is under consideration for the U.S. Olympic team. That will keep him out of play for the Indians until late August and perhaps September at this point. LaPorta will play first or left field in Cleveland and should be a full-time starter in spring 2009, if not before, which makes him a must-stash in deeper AL-only and long-term keeper leagues. The Olympics thing can really hurt his call-up date, though, especially since the Indians are out of it and unlikely to deprive their top prospect of a great experience.
