No. He is way too valuable to the Rays to be put in the bullpen next year. He will be a starter.

As long as the Rays decide on a role and stick with it, unlike Joba, Price will excel whichever role he is given, and starters are worth more than relievers.

Does insulting the Yankees make it hurt less for you? ;-7

There has never been any wavering on Joba's role by Brian Cashman, who is frankly the only one that matters. Quotes from Hank Steinbrenner are completely worthless except for their comedic value.

Is it me or do all Sox fans have a major Yankees complex?

I do. I wish the Sox would increase their payroll another $60 million, miss the playoffs, but then act like I accomplished something when another team gets eliminated.

It wasn't meant as an insult. Saying something like "Since you've been golfing for a month now how's the game going?" would be an insult. Laying a fact that Joba's role seems to always be up in the air is not. (Future closer, starter, 100+ IP RP??)
The Sox did the same thing with Paps before the team and he decided he was going to be the closer and shut the door on the issue. That was only for a couple months.
Joba 42 games pitched, 12 starts. He started the season in the pen, moved to the rotation, and returned to the pen post-injury. The Yanks started the season with Wang/Pettite/Hughes/Burnett/Kennedy as their rotation. I guess I can see why Joba started in the pen then, but now the Rays have the same dilemma...
Looking ahead at the Rays rotation next season they have Kaz/Shields/Garza/Sonny/E-Jax. Do the Rays move Jackson to the pen right away or do they keep Price in the pen to give them a lights out closer? I agree Price is more valuable as a starter, but the Rays bullpen nearly cost them this oppurtunity.

Add Niemann, Talbot, and Wade Davis to that equation as well. The Rays have 9 starters for 5 spots next year, so yea I expect a few trades to add another bat or bullpen help with the excess starting pitching. But for the first time in my life, that is for November talk not October talk this year. ;-D Bring on those Phillies. ;-D

is adding edwin jackson to that list complimentary or insulting? :-b

I imagine lots of teams would have rather had Jackson as their 5th starter this year then the guy they had as their 5th starter. He probably will never become a star like he was destined to several years ago, but he is definitely serviceable.
