I sure hope so :)

He's shown flashes of brilliance this year, but also had some real clunkers in there too. Hopefully his incosistency won't hold him back as he progresses in '09

I was coming into here planning to say that his fantasy value would be severely limited by his low K/9, comparing him to Wainwright. But I looked at his MiLB stats and saw that unlike Wainwright, he kept his high K/9 through his entire minor league career. If Garza can translate his K's to the majors (which he has at times, posting 10 K's a couple times), then he can be a beast.

Yeah, Garza has always had very good stuff but was/is very raw and inconsistant with his secondary stuff. He'll continue to improve over the next few seasons as he gets things more under control. No doubt he's a talented pitcher....all a matter of how much more he can improve. I like him, but another 1 or 2 more of these post season starts and he'll probably be taken higher than I would take him.

How much would you pay for him in a standard auction format?

I'd imagine $10-15....though I don't do auction leagues all that much so I may be a bit off. I'd be a little suprised if he brought $20

Never underestimate the value of a good postseason...

I wouldn't pay more than $10 in a standard league, I'm just saying if he gets the chance to deliver and throws another gem...a) the Sox are in trouble b) his price probably jumps 40-50% next year

I tried my hardest to acquire him before the season in a dynasty league. But just couldn't get a deal done :~( :~( :~(

Those talks spawned into a Matt Kemp-to-me deal so it's not all bad :-)

Garza will be sweet next near. His K rate could/should rise to a reasonably impressive level.
