Tony Armas anyone?

Postby The Jury » Tue Mar 09, 2004 5:39 pm

One notable thing I've noticed is that after a few years in the league, Jr.'s tend to lose the "Jr." part of their name, ie. Griffey and Armas :-?

Anyways, what do you guys think of Armas this year? Is he worth a pick?
The odds of the AL MVP coming from the American League are looking pretty good.

I'm currious about Armas too. Anyone have an update on his rehab? He was looking real good after a few starts last year.

I've had my Armas on my radar since he was traded to Montreal in the Pedro deal. Picked him in the last round last year, and was grinning big time after seeing his spring stats and his first couple of the season, then he got hurt.

This kid seems awefully injury prone and there where some reports of problems with Frank Robinson I believe.

I will take a late round flyer on him again this year.

He has been able to throw all of his pitches this spring. In his last bullpen session he threw 50 pitches. Armas may not come out of the gates as strong as last season, but he should be a very good "round off your staff" type pick.

Bid $1-$7 on him or take him. He is a breakout candidate.
