Personally I see more Dan Uggla than Chase Utley when I look at Ian Stewart. Especailly if you look at defense (at 2B).

Not many guys can be as good as Utley, so thats a tough standard to compare a young guy like Stewart to/ I say he ceiling is a little higher than Uggla's, however in the longrun probably will just be eligible at 3B.

Again, a stolen base for my bench. Fantastic.

Regular playing time to I.Stew anytime soon?

This dude is obviously good. He's only a few games away from being 2B eligible for me next year, too in my keeper league. I really don't think he'll be a utility guy for very long.

Yea it's really frustrating but you gotta think of him as nothing but a backup for off days until he gets fulltime AB's. It's only a matter of time until injury or a cold streak opens up a spot for him.
Here's the pitch on the way, a swing and a belt! Left field! Way back! BLUE JAYS WIN!

This guy is raking, while noone else on his team is. Were I a Rockies fan, I wouldn't care if he played a different position every single day so long as he got at-bats.

Unless you've got a really good option at CI or U, I would take the chance and start him against all RHP, he will get the majority of the starts.

Looks like he might get OF eligibilty before 2B. When he gets OF, he is going to start all the time against RHP.

Fielding aside, talking strictly hitting wise there is no reason to believe that Stewart's offensive numbers would be more compartive to Uggla than Chase Utley. Its only fair to look into each of their minor league career totals to compare Stewart to Utley, since Stewart's major league career is limited.

Stewart (Minor league Stats) ABs 2297 Rs 427 HRs 101 RBIs 423 SB 46 BA .293 OPS. 898

Utley (Minor League Stats) ABs 1874 Rs 262 HRs 59 RBIs 253 SB 46 BA .282 OPS.823

Looks like Stewart would have the edge offensively if you compared their minor league hitting

He got the start in the outfield the other night. Any chance he starts pushing Spillborghs for playing time?
