I wonder if he will get enough games at 2B this season to keep his eligibility next year, if Atkins is traded and he is the full time 3B next season he could have a lot of value..

Its only fair to look into each of their minor league career totals to compare Stewart to Utley, since Stewart's major league career is limited.

Stewart (Minor league Stats) ABs 2297 Rs 427 HRs 101 RBIs 423 SB 46 BA .293 OPS. 898

Utley (Minor League Stats) ABs 1874 Rs 262 HRs 59 RBIs 253 SB 46 BA .282 OPS.823

Looks like Stewart would have the edge offensively if you compared their minor league hitting

Alot of prospects' MiLB numbers look great compared to Utleys.

The thing is that I see Ian Stewart with a K rate that is closer to Uggla's instead of Utley. And the K rate is one of the big things that drives Uggla's avg down (and subsequently the OBP and SLG follows). both Uggla and Utley have similar power (.225ish ISOp) which Stewart should be around. It's also possible he ends up in the middle.

regardless he should be playing more.

It looks like Stew is starting in left field and batting second again tonight. I'd still prefer him at second base, as Spilly will be fine, but getting him into the starting lineup is essential. ;-D Dexter Fowler is also starting in center field, so my perfect starting lineup is nearly complete. ;-)

For sure..he is tied for the team lead in HRs and is 2nd in RBI's for Colorado and he has like half the AB's of the regulars..

So is Stewart gonna get fulltime AB's now? Or can I at least count on him to get the start against RHP? Hoping to get some production out of him tonight...
