You're a Sox fan and you're going to say it's annoying to watch Joba pitch? Papelbon's ridiculous celebrations are far more annoying.

There is Braun's and it shows what a tool Brenly is too~.

I'm not sure how that makes Brenly a tool.
He's just telling it how it is.

I'd have a problem with Braun if he did that unprovoked, but having a pitch within an inch of hitting you in the head is serious business. If it were me I probably would have had something to say along with the staredown.

Braun really didn't do much there at all. I'm surprised they're making a big deal out of that.

He almost got clocked. I'd be all amped up, too.

Yeah, I kind of agree here. Once was pretty funny, but the encore was lame.

Seriously? You don't think the 'sore ribs' and 'big eyeballs' comments were a little sour grapesy?

I thought the Braun one was great. You know that HR felt good... ;-D

Braun's pretty cocky/confident, whichever way you want to look at it doesn't matter. If he keeps up with the shenanigans, he'll get a fastball to the ribs every now and again. It didn't make Brenly look bad, as far as I was concerned.

Braun unquestionably brings a bit of swagger to the field with him. I'm not a huge fan of the real cocky stuff, but for opposing fans to hate on it is generally laughable. Almost every team has a guy or two that tends to admire his home runs. Mr. Brenly's own Chicago Cubs have the demonstrative Aramis Ramirez, Alfonso Soriano, and of course, Hothead Zambrano. Just like how it's laughable for a Sawx fan to criticize Joba, or Yanks fan to criticize Papelbon.

This particular incident I kind of enjoyed. I think Brewcrewball.com sums it up best when they said...

I think the key here is that this is was not a premeditated, elaborate ritual, but rather a spontaneous outburst of victory after a perceived direct challenge.

Brenly's assinine comments do just come off as sour grapes. Probably just bitter that out of 4 candidates interviewed for the Brewers' managerial job, he came in 4th (with Macha, Randolph, and Sveum all ending up on the club, and Brenly reportedly having an awful interview). It's not just the "ball in the ribs" business, but the "big eyeballs" shot. Uncalled for, in my opinion.

Maybe if you kept the whole quote you would realize we actually agree to an extent.

The attitude seems to help them some and is fun to watch when it is for your team. Just do not act surprised when the pitchers actions amp up the emotion and the batter reacts to it.

Brenly is a freaking moron apparently... Dempster threw it at his head and Braun crushed him. That was great.
