Lind - Buy or sell?

Postby Big Pimpin » Wed May 13, 2009 5:57 pm

No doubt that he's been good, but this can't all last. His LD% is way higher than his career norms, which is propping up an extremely high BABIP.

If you have him, are you holding or attempting to sell? If you don't have him, would you buy? I think he'll be solid for the season, so personally I'd deal him if I get a nice deal but I won't trade him just to trade him. Anyone else have thoughts on Lind?

Depends on what you can get for him. I don't think he is going to hit .300 from here on out, I don't think he'll hit 30 HR on the season even with 6 already. I still don't think he can really hit lefties. If we were drafting a league starting with today's stats I wouldn't take him in the first 10 rounds.

Yeah I hear you. ZIPS has him at .286 over the rest of the year, with 14 HRs. I think that's probably a decent estimate. I think they might be low on the PT estimate, so I might say a couple more, but nothing I'd quibble over.

Lind doesn't have career numbers, you can use those when he has more than 326 ABs in a season. He's been playing well though, drawing walks, plenty of extra base hits, I think he has a chance at falling in the low end #2 OF range.

He will absolutely maintain a .300 AVG. Power might top out around 20 HR though.

It really depends on what you can get for him. In a standard league, he doesn't have enough power and zero speed to be that valuable.

I think he is very comparable to Andre Ethier.

Low-end #2 is like 5th round...

Oh, I always blow off outfielders after I draft one because guys like Lind and Adam Jones come up anyway. I was thinking 8/9 round range.
