I picked this guy up expecting to ride out the hot streak, but the guy keeps on hitting.

2009 4HR 8SB 19R 13RBI .356/.394/.517

He also hit another HR and stole another base tonight.

Over his career he has been decent with .282/.341/.373 and 20+ SB the last few seasons.

Now I know the average is going to take a hit, but he has already matched his career high in HRs, and should be good for at least 20SB. What do you guys think of him and expect from him the rest of the year?

2009 projection 8HR 25SB 75R 50RBI .300

Totally agree with you. Moving up to top of order? This guy looks good, so what do I do? I packged him in a trade. Bartlett, Alex Ramirez, Edgar Renteria, for Rollins and Uggla. Hope it pans.

yikes. i am pretty optimistic on him, but he's not quite that good, especially in R/RBI.

The rest of 2009 projection 5HR 20SB 55R, 35RBI, .290

ZiPS (via fangraphs) has his ROS projection at .289, 4HR, 54R, 34RBI, 15SB FWIW. Although that wouldn't account for any benefit of moving up in the order if that happens.

Except for the fact you miss quoted me. I changed my overall 2009 projection, its not my projection for the rest of 2009. I don't know why you see it as such a stretch. In 2007 he had 75 runs, and TB wasn't as good as it is this year. In 2007 he also had 43RBI, but he only hit 5HR. Slight boost in power, slight boost in RBI. PErhaps you should have looked has his numbers before attacking my projection. IF he moves to the top of the order he could perhaps even exceed my runs total projection.

Well good thing that there is over half the season left for him to move up in the order. ;-D

i was more wondering what the Rays not being very good in 2007 had to do with him scoring 75 runs that year :-b
