As much as I wanted to pass on him, I had to grab him. My team is in need of a miracle and maybe Willis is a start :-o

I don't think he's any more risk then like a Matt Harrison or a Brett Cecil.. but the upside could be there, especially if detroit keeps winning ballgames..

He didn't have a tiny hiccup. Dontrelle has been bad for a few years now. I will likely be the last person in my league to buy into him.

That said, can I suggest hiring whomever got his head straightened out to talk to the Cubs about winning in the post season, or hitting with the bases loaded.

It picked him up early April to fill a DL spot in a 20 teamer.

Wow, that's some bold speculation! 8-o Congrats if it works out. I'm staying away for now.

Willis is now 8% owned in Yahoo, will be interesting to see if that goes up.

I watched the highlights of the game and it looks like they were smacking the ball hard all over the place against him just right at guys. I want nothing to do with him though if he has 4 or 5 good starts in a row I might consider him as a spot starter against weak offenses, of course I'll consider almost anyone a spot starter against weak offenses.

He's in a 20-teamer. I would assume that risks like that are commonplace in leagues that deep.

1 good game means nothing.

Anyone looking to get on board the Dtrain is hurting to collide into a brick wall. By the time I trust him, he'll be long gone.

Wow everyone here really seems to hate Dontrelle. I mean the guy was ridiculous in '05, good in '06, he was terrible in '07, didn't pitch in '08 and now he is starting back up in '09. Given the possible reward I don't see how this guy isn't at least worth a grab and hold, even if you don't start him yet. He plays on a good team in a weak hitting division and most of the power hitters in the division (Mauer/Morneau/Sizemore/Thome/Jacobs) are lefties. V-Mart is switch with Dye/Quentin the only true RH power in the Central. I know some of those guys do ok against lefties but Dontrelle has historically been unhittable for lefties due a lot to his wacky delivery. He is a headcase, there is no question, but I don't think they would have brought him back if he wasn't able to keep it together out there, and I think him pitching an excellent game right after that first outing where he got shelled goes a long way to show perhaps he has gotten over his troubles. He is still only 27, has a lot of experience for his age, and hopefully the worst is behind him. I always thought he was fun to watch and here's hoping the good old Dontrelle we all loved is back ;-D
