Whatever happened to Aaron Boone?

Postby Dr GonZo » Mon Mar 15, 2004 2:02 pm

So I picked up Aaron Boone hoping he'd take my 2 base spot, but now I'm hearing rumors that he's off to Japan. Plus I see very little info on him online, at least on current events. Anyone know the deal?!

I think he took up a career playing basketball.

Dang

Postby Dr GonZo » Mon Mar 15, 2004 2:09 pm

Dang, that's nuts. I live in Amsterdam so all my info comes thru the web. How insane that there's no coverage on him since he got dropped by NYY. Oh well... any advice on who I should substitue him with:

D. Jiménez Cin 69 14 57 11 .273
D. Relaford KC 70 8 59 20 .254
M. Anderson StL 59 6 67 19 .270

Pretty nuts that Yahoo wouldn't even have their list updated. I'm late, but how the heck can Yahoo be so late?! Thanks anyway...

To be more direct, he hurt himself playing basketball in the off season in direct violation of his contract, so the Yankees released him.

I'm not sure how you could have missed this...even if you live on Mars. Anyway, of this list..Jiminez is an up an comer....but a slow starter. Relaford is actually in a positon battle with Tony Graffanino, so he's not a sure thing. And Anderson is in a position battle as well. Soooo...probably Jimenez. Any other options?

Best person on the waiver wire will probably be Aaron Miles. 2nd basemen for Colorado.
