Two Round 1 Picks

Postby Notorious SOD » Mon Mar 15, 2004 4:28 pm

Like the trade or not here is what I did:

My draft spot over all is #2 in a 10 team 5x5 league

I then traded my round 2/3/10 for his 1/6/8. So I have the #2 and #3 picks in round 1, no round 2 or 3 and have Sheffield as a keeper in round 4.

The trade is done so you can give me your thoughts if you like but the real question is do I go offense in round 1 with Vlad and Helton (Puljos and Soriano are kept) or pitching with Pedro and Schilling (Prior is kept).

Thanks

I would take a hitter and a pitcher because you aren't going to get a good shot at a pitcher til late and you need a star hitter.

I'd go with Pujols and Soriano. You made this trade for a reason - to get 2 early picks. It doesn't make sense to trade for the 3rd pick of the draft and then use it to take Schilling/Pedro who are early second round picks.

unless I read it wrong Puj and Soriano are already taken? In that case I'd try for Vlad/Helton type combo and take best SP avail in Round 5 (if that's your next pick). You can prob get Vazq or Moose or something like that in 5th....
