Klesko or Johnson?

Postby The Fantasy God » Mon Mar 15, 2004 9:41 pm

As a Braves fan, I've followed Klesko throughout his career. He is injury prone and is garuanteed to miss 30-40 ball games every year. I'd go with Johnson.

It's Nick Johnson's time to shine; he will step it up in Montreal
Klesko disappointed bigtime last year and even playing his best is a strikeout machine (ol' Nick strikes out too, unfortunately)

Despite what their "avg proj" say, I'd give a slight nod to Johnson.

AVG PROJ (14 mainstream sources):
Klesko: 500AB/ 27HR/ 89RBI/ 81RUN/ 6SB/ .279AVG/ .883OPS
Nick J: 473AB/ 22HR/ 80RBI/ 83RUN/ 5SB/ .289AVG/ .882OPS

Klesko's injuries is what puts Nick Johnson over the top for me.

I like Klesko. I want to see Johnson prove himself first. At least Klesko has in the past.
