Prospect Info

Postby silverZ » Wed Jan 20, 2010 10:48 am

I just joined my first AL-only dynasty league and am wondering what are the best sources out there for rookie info/outlooks/projections/etc. I've never been in a keeper before, much less a dynasty with minor league rosters, so I'm trying to learn as much as I can over the next few months. Are there any sites or magazines or out there worth the money or is my best bet to just use google and go by local blogs and forums like the cafe and rotoworld?
Here's the pitch on the way, a swing and a belt! Left field! Way back! BLUE JAYS WIN!

For minor leaguers I would look at BP, BA, and minorleagueball.com. If you just want rankings you can get those for free, but you have to have a subscription to get the scouting reports and full write-ups.

which one, if any, is worth the money? I've managed to find some decent write up on the prospects I inherited just using google. Do these sites have a free trial or anything? Any good magazines out there?

minorleagueball is good, and I like projectprospect also for their rankings/articles and forums.

If you want quick and easy guide to the rankings only, I use two sites.:

Just click on "2010 Prospect Spreadsheet"...

Baseball Daily Digest has been doing compilations for a couple years also, here's the most recent:

Make sure you get SS Casey Kelly for your keeper.

There will be no SS Casey Kelly in 2010.

In season I like to keep an eye on the hot sheet at

http://www.baseballamerica.com/today/prospects

Really helps dial in the guys who are making progress and moving up. Also the hot sheet chat is good for more in depth and player comparison info.
