Pineiro --> Angels

7:34pm: SI.com's Jon Heyman tweets that Pineiro and the Angels have an agreement worth about $16MM over two years.

Should be interesting to watch, can he back up a season where he had two elite-level skills (BB rate and 60% GB) without Duncan, while changing leagues?
What will the Angels defense do to all his GBs? :-?

Worth a bid IMO.

Who woke up the Angels from their offseason slumber?

I love how the Mets are getting outbid on all of these mediocre players.

Not if he can repeat '09, as unlikely as it looks.

The Mets are getting closer to being forced to give Ben Sheets an offer.

Doug Davis got $4.5 million, Harden got $6.5 million, Carl Pavano got $7 million, Marquis and Brad Penny got $7.5 million, Randy Wolf got almost $10 million and Lackey got $16 million (I think) so it seems about right. Garland and Washburn will probably sign for the same. I have no idea what Sheets, Bedard, Wang and Looper will have to settle for.

I'm surprised he didn't get more. He made $7.5 million last year.

He will not repeat that success in the American League.
