Grant Desme, an A's second round pick, and a top 10 prospect in the organization who posted staggering numbers split between Single-A and High-A will be retiring at the ripe old age of 23 to persue a life in priesthood. Ouch... :-D

Plenty of venting over there. I can't believe that thread has gotten over 1000 comments. You can tell it's January.

I'll just say it's to bad he wasn't a part of the Kouzmanoff deal instead of Cunningham.

This comment in an article over at McCovey Chronicles discussing Jesus Guzman being DFA'd made me laugh pretty hard:

"Which is worse, losing a fairly low-value player named Jesus (Giants), or losing a fairly high-value player to Jesus (A’s)?"
