Sheets
Anderson
Braden
Cahill and
Mazzaro/Gio

Not bad at all with Bailey closing out.

Forget the resigning of Duchscherer?

1. Sheets
2. Braden
3. Duke
4. Anderson
5. Gonzalez/Cahill/Mazzaro

Will likely be the rotation come Opening Day. Great thing about this signing is that it pushes the arby clock back on Cahill and/or Mazzaro as they will be the best candidates to start the year in AAA.

Slight fly ball pitcher with the best OF defense in the bigs = :-L

I thought Sheets signed with the A's, not the M's. :-?

Yep, Gutierrez puts the M's over the top but the A's aren't far behind. http://www.proballnw.com/01-2010/al-wes ... d-defense/

This contract is ludicrous. Unless he pitches them to the playoffs, or hauls in a big prospect, 10 mill guaranteed? :-°

Sheets might surprise some people this year. Pitchers who have their arm repaired are coming back stronger than they were before surgery. When I was kid, I used to watch the Six Million Dollar Man every week. "We can rebuild him. We can make him stronger than he was before." I think that is happening with a lot of pitchers that have reconstructive surgery.

A bit too much guaranteed money for a guy who didn't pitch last year, but...I'm sure they can flip him at the deadline to a contender. :-D

They will have to wait until the Cubs are officially interested.

I think what they should do is alternate Duchscherer and Sheets in one rotation spot :-D

That way they can both stay healthy the whole year.

While that may be true, I think you're overlooking the fact that they could still flip him for prospects if they aren't in contention.
