Cubs Reach Agreement With Xavier Nady
11:41am: Tim Brown of Yahoo! Sports tweets that the team has reached an agreement with Nady, pending a physical. Given his elbow, the physical is far from a slam dunk.

Good move, but renders the Byrd signing pointless except as a backup.

Or Byrd could be insurance that Nady rebounds from his second Tommy John Surgery

I'm thinking more like Nady becomes the platoon partner for Fukudome.

Does Nady meet all of the Cubs' stringent injury requirements? I don't know if Tommy John is "injured enough" for us. Risky move.

I'd think Nady would be the 4th OFer. But with the injury concerns of Soriano and the mediocore play of Fukudome and Byrd he'll still likely see 350-400AB, no?

Yet another injury prone player signing by the Cubs! :-t
When it comes to exaggerating, I always give 110%.
