It's hard to get too upset about the caliber of player they signed to play LF part-time that probably cost $2M or less. We're probably talking differences of 0.1's of wins here with these different guys and how much they'll play.

Right, but the whole point was to find someone who can hit Lefties... not only can he not hit, he can't hit lefties.

Why couldn't we have just gone with Reed Johnson? He can actually HIT lefties. Now when we face a Southpaw, Granderson, Brett/Winn are all inept at hitting a lefty....

Reed Johnson is who I would have most liked to have, but he must have wanted more money than what they were able to sign Winn for.

Well, if we non-tendered Mitre (.85), Gaudin (3.5), and didn't sign Winn (2), or Logan (.6)

= 1/$7 for Damon

Who cares? :-? Let's all talk about how the Padres signed Garland and Stairs OH WAIT that's right, they're not the Yankees or Red Sox so no one wants to waste their time hearing/reading/talking about it.

You'd have three roster spots left to fill still in that case. Mitre and Logan are making near the minimum, so I don't see how you can complain about them. Gaudin could have been nontendered, but he was decent in NY.

Best news all day. That should close that avenue for the Royals to trade away Dejesus.
