At least the man has some upside (though he's unlikely to fulfill it). I actually think he's not a bad bench player for your team, in a deep league (I'd say ~400 players owned or so)

Jeff Francoeur is awful at baseball. He does nothing well. He's slow. He doesn't hit for average. He doesn't hit for power. He doesn't have plate discipline. He doesn't make contact. He doesn't have defensive range.

But at least he's got a great arm.

I like him more as a bench sleeper for HtH than I do for roto. I think he has a very legit chance at .275 75-17-85 anyway, although I don't really see him stealing even 10 bases (call that his hard ceiling). On a roto team I think his value is mostly for injury fill in unless we're talking about a deep league with a lot of active slots (at which point he's a fine late round sleeper). For shorter roto rosters I don't think I'd play him much and I'd probably rather use that bench slot on a bigger upside guy. For HtH teams I like him a lot more since he'd actually be getting regularly slotted in and his ability to outperform his low draft position pays off a little more.

surprisingly, ive at least got him on my watch list. cant hurt to watch what he does. he was a beast (sort of) for those 2 yrs in atlanta so he at the very least owns those skills, doubt he ever gets back to that production but given the fact that hes only 26, ill at least keep a distant eye on him in my deeper leagues.

every yr there are guys that have breakout or comeback yrs out of nowhere, even if they cant be explained, its the difference between winning a league and coming in 4th.

A guy I just won't ever ever have on my team.
BB/K (.50 is good)
2009: .25
2008: .35
2007: .33
2006 (his so-called amazing season): .17 awful

Isolated power (SLG minus avg, .200 is good, .100 bad.)
2009: .143
2008: .120
2007: .151
2006 (his so-called amazing season): .189

His power is declining, and the only reason he got 29 HRs in '06 was a magic combination of a 15% HR/FB (which he hasn't got close to since), and the fact that he had 651 at-bats.

I'm just a moron, what do I know.

.444, 2 HR, 6 RBIs, 4 Runs

Leave this .300, 25+ HR, 100+ RBI, 80+ Run guy on your leagues free agent list.. it's your team, not mine.

HAHAHAHA, thanks man really needed that laugh. Really, really now, .300 average? You do realize he has averages of .280 or worse in 3 of his 4 fulltime MLB seasons right? Also 2 of those 3 are .250 or worse. And 25+HR with half his games in that park? Wright is a much better bat and most aren't even projecting him to do that. I mean look at his ATL days, much better hitters park then the New Mets Stadium and he still topped 25 only once. Also 80+R, even in his best years he JUST BARELY clipped that mark, and that wasn't with him hitting in the 5 hole.

Listen I believe Frenchy still has a little something left, but to predict a line of .300/80/25/100 out of him is why you are winning your leagues, because your playing in the 8 teamers where you don't even have to think about touching guys like Frenchy. Sorry, but keep dreaming.
Great thanks to soto for the sweet sig!...
